Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 29, 2026

Last Updated: April 29, 2026

Ledger App ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Ledger web application accessible at ledgerbuyer.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the Service. By using Ledger, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account Information. When you sign in through our authentication provider, we receive your name, email address, and a unique identifier associated with your account. We use this to create and maintain your Ledger account.

User-Generated Content. All data you enter into the Service — including brand names, contact details, product information, pricing, notes, size grids, and availability dates — is stored on our servers to provide the Service to you.

Uploaded Files. Photos, PDF files, and CSV files you upload are stored in our cloud storage infrastructure. These files are associated with your account and are accessible only to you.

Payment Information. Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number, CVV, or card expiration date. We receive and store only a Stripe customer ID and subscription status to manage your access to paid features.

Usage Data. We may collect anonymized analytics data such as pages visited, features used, and session duration to improve the Service. This data does not identify you personally.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account
  • Process subscription payments and manage billing
  • Store and retrieve your buying data, product information, and uploaded files
  • Generate AI-powered buying summaries using the data you provide
  • Send transactional emails related to your account or subscription (e.g., payment receipts)
  • Respond to support requests and communicate with you about the Service
  • Improve and develop new features based on anonymized usage patterns
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. AI-Generated Summaries

When you request an AI buying summary for a product or brand, the relevant data you have entered (such as product name, pricing, availability, and notes) is sent to a third-party AI language model provider to generate the summary. This data is transmitted securely and is used solely to generate the requested output. We do not use your data to train AI models. Please do not include sensitive personal information (such as social security numbers or financial account details) in notes or product descriptions.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers. We work with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Service, including cloud infrastructure providers, payment processors (Stripe), authentication providers, and AI model providers. These vendors are contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it to provide services to us.

Legal Requirements. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

Business Transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. We implement industry-standard security measures including access controls, authentication requirements, and regular security reviews. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data and user-generated content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes. Uploaded files are deleted when you remove them from the Service or when your account is deleted.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data
  • Portability: Request an export of your data in a machine-readable format (use the Export CSV feature in the app)
  • Objection: Object to certain processing of your data
  • Withdrawal of Consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw that consent at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Cookies and Tracking

Ledger uses a session cookie to maintain your authenticated session. This cookie is strictly necessary for the Service to function and does not track you across other websites. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies that identify you personally. We may use anonymized, aggregated analytics to understand how the Service is used.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us at [email protected].

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (such as brand websites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through the Service.

11. International Data Transfers

Ledger is operated from the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States.

12. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us at [email protected].

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the Service and updating the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
